Reflection:
Seven words to describe an event of unimaginable cruelty. Jesus chained to a pillar, beaten with cords that ripped flesh from his body.
Do we sanitise the Passion? Of course we do. Are we unable to look at it for what it was? Who wouldn’t look away?
There are other aspects of life that we turn away from; too easily are we distracted; too easily do we protect our own sensitivities.
