Reflection #3 – Ladder with Nails, plus Hammer & Pincer

Gospel of Luke Chapter 23: 33-34

And when they came to the place that is called the Skull, there they crucified him…and Jesus said, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

Reflection:

The unnamed soldiers nailed Jesus to the Cross. They knew what they had to do; they were men under orders. But they did not know who it was into whose body they drove the nails. Jesus prayed that his Father would forgive them.

Do we carry with us the burden of being unable to forgive? Are we unable to forgive ourselves?

On the Cross Jesus reveals the extent of God’s forgiveness. It is an “every day” gift.
